IRCTC Horrors

Now this is some serious thing. The next time you book your train ticket at IRCTC - ensure that you take a print of the ticket then and there. Coz, if you fail to do so, then IRCTC also fails to log your transaction into its DBs occasionally.

Thats what has happened to me last week. And unfortunately, if you are booking the tickets for somebody else, then nobody is going to save you from the blame. This is what precisely happened.

I booked a SL class ticket from MAS to CSTM, made the payment and sent the ticket to print as soon as it popped up. However, I had not collected it from the print basin.

Now after 2 days, when I logged in to the web site and went to the Booked Tickets page, I was shocked to not find the entry for my transaction. And it hasn't appeared since.

Lucky me, I had the print outs.

I wonder how people are going to get back their tickets in such cases. Atleast earlier the PAN Numbers would have helped, but now they stopped taking PAN numbers also.
